Body LIFE Award 2014

The 2014 body LIFE Awards have been presented. Germany’s fitness clubs have decided. This year’s event was held in Hamburg for the first time. The Würtenberger Market Research Institute FIW (Forschungsinstitut Würtenberger) determined the positions in 14 categories, based on a two-stage market performance study conducted over the past year. The 140 or so guests included managing directors and marketing managers from the leading product and service providers in the German fitness industry.

On behalf of body LIFE, FIW conducted a detailed survey of 500 owners and operators of facilities with a floor area of at least 200 square metres from 5,712 cleansed data records. The unsupported preliminary questionnaire was used initially to determine the degree of recognition of the nominees in each category. FIW then, as every year, produced a market and satisfaction index from a wide range of standardised, detailed questions. The results were averaged to create the body LIFE Award Index and determine the positions in the award categories.

Top award goes to ICG (Indoor Cycling Group)
The ICG with its Tomahawk brand once again won the Indoor Cycling category in 2014 and so received the celebrated “body LIFE Award”. For the eighth time (and fourth time in succession), the ICG came out on top, above the other nominees in this category. The award was presented by body LIFE, Europe’s leading specialist magazine in the sector. “We would like to congratulate the winners of the 2014 body LIFE Awards on their know-how, commitment and business management skills that have led to this success and award-winning position,” said Max Barth, publishing director and editor in chief of body LIFE.
